Prince Alwaleed Awards SR200,000 to Saudi Arabian Athletics Federation

On Saturday, June 22nd 2013, HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received HH Prince Nawaf Bin Mohammed Bin Abdullah Alsaud Head of Saudi Arabian Athletics Federation and an accompanying delegation that included Mr. Khalid Aldilak, Manager of Saudi Arabian Athletics Federation and Mr. Ibrahim Basheer 400m runner and Silver medalist of the Athletics Championships in Lyon.

Prince Alwaleed met with HH Prince Nawaf and discussed the latest updates of the Federation and their achievements. The Prince stressed the need to support sports and the athletes as well as the development of clubs in Saudi Arabia and to embrace the young generation to hone their athletic skills and invest their time in useful activities.

As a reward, Prince Alwaleed awarded the Federation with a total of SR200,000 thousand for the Federation’s budget. This honor comes as the Federation team achieved a number of achievements in games where a number of players qualified to participate in the eighth World Championships in Athletics for the juniors division held in Ukraine and the World Championships in Athletics for the adults division which will be held in Moscow.

In conclusion to the event, Prince Nawaf thanked Prince Alwaleed for his support and his constant encouragement for clubs and sport federations in Saudi Arabia.
