New York Times Acknowledges Mistaken Identification of HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal in Syria Computer Sales Investigation.

In a case of mistaken identification, in a May 3, 2013 article entitled “Outwitting Sanctions, Syria Buys Dell PCs” about Dell computer equipment allegedly being shipped to Syria in contravention of US policy, the New York Times incorrectly identified HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal as the owner of BDL Gulf, a computer distributor.
Neither Prince Alwaleed nor any of his companies own BDL Gulf, nor has there ever been any connection whatsoever with the company or the activities reported in the article.

When informed of the mistake, the New York Times immediately corrected the story and sent a letter of apology [make 'letter' a hyperlink to the pdf of the letter]  expressing regrets for the error to HRH Prince Alwaleed.
