Prince Alwaleed Receives Outgoing Burkina Faso’s Ambassador

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office the #Burkina_Faso Ambassador and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps to Saudi Arabia H.E Omar Diawara. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Nahla Alanbar Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

The meeting began as the Ambassador thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him and relayed cordial regards from the Burkina Faso’s government. During the meeting Mr. Diawara expressed his government’s desire to attract Prince Alwaleed’s investments to the country, and said that his government will strive to facilitate whatever is necessary for the success of HRH’s investments.

In conclusion to the meeting, Ambassador Diawara bid Prince Alwaleed farewell as he had come to the end of his post as Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. His Highness wished Mr. Diawara the best on his future endeavors.

In April 2011, HH Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel, Vice Chairwoman of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed visited Burkina Faso and inaugurated the Prince “Alwaleed Bin Talal Village”. The Princess was accompanied by a delegation from Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation. During the Princess’s trip she was also received by HE Blaise Campaore, President of Burkina Faso at the Presidential Palace in Ouagadougou.

Upon Princess Ameerah’s arrival at the airport of Ouagadougou Her Highness was received by HE Mrs. Chantal Campaore, the First Lady of Burkina Faso where they headed towards Zinairi village. Moreover, during the trip Princess Ameerah and the First Lady inaugurated the Prince “Alwaleed Bin Talal Village”. During the inauguration ceremony the First Lady and Princess Ameerah gave a speech and toured the village. They both also met with the orphans of the village and an additional $50,000 donation was made by the Foundation.

In her speech, the Princess said: “Today my joy is indescribable. Nothing warms our hearts more than seeing the fruits of our labor with our own eyes. Witnessing how the Alwaleed Bin Talal Village for orphans materialize…”

The Princess continued: “My children, you are the future. It is our responsibility to take care and educate you today so you can have the right tools to take care of our world tomorrow.”

In April 2003 Prince Alwaleed had donated $1 million for the construction of Suka Village and provision of equipment for a children's dental clinic. In 2008, Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation donated $400,000 for constructing “Alwaleed Bin Talal Village” in Burkina Faso. In 2006 the Prince visited Burkina Faso and toured the construction site of the village. Moreover during that trip HRH was bestowed with an honorary citizenship and the "Key to the City of Ouagadougou" to mark his solid support and friendship to the people of Burkina Faso. In 2003, President Compaore awarded Prince Alwaleed Burkina Faso's highest honor, a medal with the rank of “Commander of the National Order.” The Prince's previous meetings with the President were in 2003 in Burkina Faso and at the George V, Paris in 2002.
