In 2010, Alwaleed Foundation granted $50,000 to SFCG, a non-profit conflict prevention and resolution organization. The Common Ground Media training projects are a core component of SFCG projects. Their goal is to improve the way important issues in Muslim and Western relations are portrayed in the media, particularly in violent conflict situations, in order to reduce stereotypes, increase understanding and respect. Furthermore, they aim to transform international public opinion on all sides away from adversarial approaches that threaten the security of the states and individuals involved, toward cooperative solutions. SFCG partners include Prince Alwaleed Centers at Georgetown, the American University of Beirut, and the American University of Cairo.
