Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation (Registered in Saudi Arabia), that is chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, has supported the Neighborhood Development Project “’Oun” with King Abdulaziz Charitable Organization in Qassim.
King Abdulaziz Charitable Organization designed its developmental urbanization project to raise living standards and improve public services provided to the disadvantaged neighborhoods. The project seeks to identify social, religious, cultural, educational, economic, environmental and health challenges that are affecting residents of poor neighborhoods. It works to establish effective programs and steady plans to tackle and resolve these problems in cooperation with the neighborhood, local leaders, governments, and private sectors in order to reach a higher standard of living in all aspects.
The project works on organizing field visits to all disadvantaged neighborhoods in Qassim and creating volunteering groups of youth to participate in the implementation of educational programs and activities. In addition to that, volunteers also participated in street lighting, waste removal and restoration. The project also supports small projects of low-income families and encourages people in various areas to create competitiveness and ensure sustainability.
The fight against poverty and meeting the needs of the poor are a defining goal of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation. The Foundation attempts to intervene as much as possible according to studied mechanisms to alleviate poverty in many ways, the most important of which is developing the charities resources and supporting them to change their ways in the fight against poverty and turning them from the methods of sponsorship to the methods of sustainability. The Foundation has been doing this by focusing on rehabilitation and training programs which result in employment for poor families.
King Abdul Aziz Women's Charitable Society project “’Oun” was established in Qassim in 1400 H and work on the provision of services to increase social, economic, educational, and environmental awareness through the development of projects and activities targeted to improving our community.
