Prince Alwaleed Receives Advisor to President of Niger to Discuss Economic & Humanitarian Issues

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received at his office in Riyadh HE Mr. Sumana Hadu Oudo, Advisor to President of #Niger who was accompanied by HE Abdullah Hassan Mawlai, Niger Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by Dr. Nahla Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.


The meeting began as Mr. Sumana Hadu Oudo thanked the Prince for giving him the opportunity to meet with him, and relayed cordial regards from HE Mr. Mahamadou Issoufou President of the Republic of Niger.

Moreover, Mr. Oudo commended Prince Alwaleed on his efforts in playing a vital role in economic and social development, and referred to HRH's local, regional and international investments and expressed his gratitude to HRH's continuous help and contributions to Niger. 

 


In conclusion to the meeting Prince Alwaleed expressed his readiness to extend further humanitarian support through Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by His Highness and vice chaired by HH Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel.

Prince Alwaleed had visited Niger on a number of occasions. In June 2006, the Prince visited Niger and was bestowed the national medal by the President in recognition for his efforts on the humanitarian and economical fronts. During Prince Alwaleed's visit to Niger in July 2005, President Tandja had discussed the famine crisis in Niger and requested help from the Prince. In response, the Prince donated $1.2 million for food, to feed 2 million people for three months. In September 2005 Prince Alwaleed further donated $1 million to the Food Security Reserve for disasters that contributes to the fight against starvation.

In 2009, Alwaleed Foundation donated £30,000 Al Madad Foundation to publish “Desert Faces, The Silent Witnesses of the Niger Drought” book. Also the Foundation donated $250,000 to support anti-poverty programs sponsored by the Prime Minister; well-drilling; training program for women and children.
