Alwaleed Foundation Supports Public Transport Project for Physically Disabled Adults

Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation (Registered in Saudi Arabia), that is chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud and vice chaired by HH Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel who is also the Secretary General, has supported a public transport project with the Physically Disabled Adults Association in Riyadh by providing them with 3 fully equipped buses.

The Physically Disabled Adults Association offers public transport services for the disabled by providing "40" buses that are equipped with special specifications to accommodate adults. Those buses are designed to serve people with mobility impairments in transport, reduce the cost of transport and assist during emergencies.

This public transport project is aimed at persons with disabilities affiliated with The Physically Disabled Adults Association, adults who acquire transport support and hospitals that do not have vehicles equipped for disabled adults.

The Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation has supported this project, which is the first project in Saudi Arabia that offers fully equipped vehicles to adults with physical disabilities. The Foundation strongly believes in the importance of integrating adults with special needs with the rest of the society. In addition, The Foundation has identified a lack of transport accommodations designed for adults with special needs in Saudi Arabia and aims to fulfill this need.

Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations are involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian and philanthropic activities in more than 70 countries. Their main focus areas have been established around strategic initiatives, ranging from Disaster Relief and Community Development, to Women and Youth Empowerment, as well as Promoting Intercultural Understanding.
