HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office in Riyadh, HE Mr. Mohamed Abdi Mohamud, Kenyan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Hassna Alturki, Executive Manager for International Relations to HRH the Chairman, Mr. Fahad Bin Nafel, Senior Executive Assistant to HRH the chairman and Mr. Ahmed Altubaishi, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.
The meeting began as the Ambassador thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him, as it is the first meeting for His Excellency with Prince Alwaleed since he took up post as Kenya’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to HRH's continuous help and contributions to the Kenya.
Also during the meeting the Ambassador commended Prince Alwaleed on his efforts in playing a vital role in economic and social development, and referred to the Prince’s local, regional and international investments through KHC.
In 2005, Alwaleed Philanthropies that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed donated $500,000 towards the building and renovation of children schools under the supervision of the Kenyan government. Also in 2006, Alwaleed Philanthropies donated $1 million dollars through the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP) which provided help to over 3.5 million Kenyan citizens who were affected by the drought that struck the country. In 2008, Alwaleed Philanthropies donated $356,500 to the Partnership for Child Development towards "Deworm the World"; a project that aims to rid children of worms which effect their health and education.
In 2006, Prince Alwaleed visited the capital of Kenya, Nairobi during which he met the country’s President in the Presidential Palace. In 2005, HRH was bestowed the highest national medal by the Kenyan President.
