Prince Alwaleed Awards Saudi Comedians 23 Jeeps

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) and Chairman of Rotana Group, received in his office in Riyadh on Sunday 16th March 2014 the top talent of Saudi Stand-up Comedy lead by HRH Prince Khaled Bin Mansour Bin Saud Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, CEO of Luxury Events. The line-up included, Bader Saleh, Faiz Alshamrani, Ibrahim Alkhairallah, Mohammad Aldokhi, Ali Alshareef, Moumen Afandi, Fadi Alshehri, Nafl Aldosari, Waddah Swar, Abullah Alrougi, Ibrahim Mohammad (Mississippi Ibrahim), Saleh Al Amiri, Abdullah Al Obaid, Sary Alkhalid, Mohammad Algar'awi, Faisal AlZahrani, Ahmad Fat'h Aldeen and Abdullah Alsuadan.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Turki Alshabanah, President of Rotana TV Channels.

The delegation from KHC included Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Ms. Intisar Al-Yamani, Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Ms. Manal Alshammary, Manager, Protocol Department and Mr. Naief Alzuhair, Website and Social Media Manager, Mr. Ziyad Alomair, Relations Manager, Corporate Communications.

The delegation from HRH’s private office included Dr. Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the chairman and Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

Prince Alwaleed met with the group and discussed with them the state of Saudi Stand-up comedy and its various achievements, stressing the need to support the Saudi group and talent and to encourage them to embrace the young generation to hone their skills and invest their time in useful activities. As a form of encouragement, Prince Alwaleed awarded the Saudi Stand-up Comedy group 23 Jeeps in Support of their talents. Prince Khaled Bin Mansour thanked Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal for his constant support and encouragement for Saudi young people locally and globally, and presented a trophy in recognition of his continued support in Saudi Arabia.

This comes as the capital Riyadh held the live comedy festival on Thursday, March 13th, considered the largest in the Gulf and Middle East with over twenty of the brightest talents of Saudi Stand-up Comedy in the region.

Prince Alwaleed has a strong presence and influence in media through his investments in media and entertainment in the Arab world, and beyond like the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), in which Kingdom Holding holds a 29.9% stake. The publications that fall under SRMG include Asharq Al Awsat, Al Eqtisadiah, Arab News, Hia magazine, Al Majalla magazine, Arrajol magazine and Sayidati magazine. Furthermore, other entities that fall under SRMG are Al Khaleejiya for Publicity Advertising and Public Relations and Al Madina Printing and Publishing Company. Furthermore, KHC is owner of approximately 7 percent of 21st century Fox Class B Common Stock.

Rotana, which is majority owned by Prince Alwaleed, operates one of the largest TV networks and ad sales operations in the region and owns the largest Arabic film library. It has also built the leading record label in the Middle East, managing many of the most popular artists in the region and controlling the biggest Arabic music catalogue. Moreover, 21st Century Fox owns %19 stake in Rotana.
